Where family, sports and hospitality meet, you will find Tucker’s in New Albany, Indiana. Opened in 1999 by George and Linda Keller, Tucker’s was purchased by Deane “Dee” Kestner and Trey Meyers. Kestner and Meyers both had previous restaurant experience which gave them a leg up when it came to running a successful restaurant. When the restaurant changed hands, not many changes were made. They decided to keep the wings, burgers, ribs and some of the comfort foods. “We have added on some stuff and redone some of the food so that it is more of our flavor profiles and our own recipes,” Kestner said.
The vibe of Tucker’s has always had a hometown feel, which Kestner and Meyers were happy to keep it that way. The comfortable atmosphere has been drawing customers back for years. Although there are screens for fans to watch their favorite sports team, Tucker’s isn’t your typical sports restaurant. They are also very family oriented with a warm and friendly staff. Hospitality, family, sports and affordable food – it really can’t get much better. Yet, at Tucker’s, it does.
Everything you find on the menu at Tucker’s is made in-house. The staff at Tucker’s makes everything from queso and spinach dip to meatloaf, adding their own tasteful spin on American favorites. They hand-bread anything that is fried, and their steaks are hand-cut in house as well. Even their dressings are made right in their kitchen which only adds to the freshness that Tucker’s offers. A few of their most popular dishes are their bourbon-marinated salmon, ribs and their steaks. Marinated in a bourbon sauce made special by the staff, the salmon comes grilled or blackened, depending on the taste of the customer. Their baby back ribs are grilled and topped with homemade barbeque sauce. The steaks are hand-cut to order, cooked on a flat-top grill to the customer’s preference. During this time of year, customers participating in Lent may worry what to order when dining out. Tucker’s menu already offers several items that are appropriate for those participating in Lent.
What’s the big game without a cold beer? Tucker’s has a bar section for those 21 and over, where customers can find 18 draft beers that rotate seasonally. Not into beer? They also offer a full bar, and you will find daily drink specials.
Every Monday, Tucker’s offers All You Can Eat Rib Night (dine-in customers only). For upcoming specials and announcements, be sure to keep an eye out on their Facebook page.
